Apart from the IMF [International Monetary Fund], which Africans and others (including folks in the Caribbean) consider a Western or US controlled institution, there are direct interactions between the US (at the least) and Kenya that makes US support Kenya in its efforts at repression, writes Samar Al-Bulushi, a professor at UC Irvine.
