"The Houthis are part of the broader Middle East's core problem, which is Iran's role," says Etel Solingen. "To a certain extent, there has not been a focus on the risk to the global economy that the Houthis are responsible for. The agreement that is negotiated in place on Gaza and on the Middle East as a whole will have to also tackle the Houthis, who should be an integral part of the overall solution,” she says.
