Outstanding teaching award recipients in social sciences

The School of Social Sciences is pleased to announce the winners of the 2023-24 Dean’s Awards for Outstanding Teaching:
- Danielle Thomsen – Political Science, School of Social Sciences Dr. Joseph L. White Award for Outstanding Mentorship
- Isabel Almeida – Chicano/Latino Studies, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching
- Erin Lockwood – Political Science, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Teaching Innovation
Faculty were nominated for one of three awards to recognize outstanding teaching in the School of Social Sciences. Additionally, the awards recognize a commitment to inclusive excellence and dedication to higher education through the use of innovative methods and mentorship. The selection was done by the school’s Executive Committee. The recipients each receive a $2,000 research stipend.

- Lauren Ross – Logic of Philosophy and Science, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching
- Sara Mednick – Cognitive Sciences, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Teaching Innovation

- Long T. Bui – Global & International Studies, Dr. Joseph L. White Award for Outstanding Mentorship
