Though the three-year-olds might not be as aware of how their family operates, children around the ages of four or five do, said study co-author Dr. Nadia Chernyak, an assistant professor in University of California, Irvine’s department of cognitive sciences. "Every single kid pretty much, at both cultures, of every age we tested, said that it was fair,” Chernyak said.
