Latest rankings from Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report confirm UCI’s standing among the nation’s top-ten public universities. Princeton Review ranked UCI 9th among public universities for best value, citing the campus's stellar academics, affordability through comparatively lower tuition costs and generous financial aid, and strong career prospects for graduates. And U.S. News & World Report ranked UCI 10th among public universities –33rd overall – on its 2023-24 list of “Best Colleges,” marking the ninth consecutive year in which UCI has placed in the top 10.

Additionally, U.S. News & World Report ranked two undergraduate programs in the School of Social Sciences in the nation’s top 15 among public universities:

  • Economics, 13th among public universities, 41st overall
  • Psychology, 9th among public universities, 20th overall (program is administered by both the Department of Cognitive Sciences in Social Sciences and the Department of Psychological Science in Social Ecology)

Other undergraduate degree programs in the School of Social Sciences were not evaluated this year.
