Mark Steyvers, PhD, is a professor of Cognitive Science at the University of California, Irvine’s (UCI) School of Social Sciences and a Chancellor’s Fellow. He also has a joint appointment with the Computer Science department and is affiliated with the Center for Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems. The general focus of his research in cognitive science at UCI is high-level cognition. The goal is to understand how people self-reflect, learn, and make decisions through empirical studies and computational modeling.
