Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is headed to Orange County this weekend. The social media-savvy progressive congresswoman from New York is slated to speak at UC Irvine on Sunday, Oct. 23, in an effort to galvanize young voters in the upcoming midterm elections. … Matthew Beckmann, a UCI political science [associate] professor, said [President] Biden and Ocasio-Cortez “have a star power that will shine a light on local Democrats and put a little wind into the turnout sails.”
