- Three members of the UCI language science community presented work at the conference in Philadelphia
Language science Ph.D. student Jeremy Yeaton as well as their advisor Greg Hickok, professor of language science and cognitive sciences, and research scientist, Grant Walker, presented work on language -- particularly in people with aphasia -- at the 14th annual meeting of the Society for the Neurobiology of Language (SNL). Yeaton presented a poster on a new framework for characterizing syntactic production deficits in people with aphasia, developed with collaborators from the University of South Carolina, the University of Montana, and Indiana University. Walker presented his findings on the neural correlates of lexical and sublexical processing in people with aphasia, and Hickok gave a talk about a new model for speech control.
