Sabrina Strings, UCI sociology associate professor, writes, “I often prefer to make hand-written notes on small notepads—something about it feels intimate and thereby important. In my view, the key to good writing is to lay out your points and offer yourself positive reinforcement for the revisions. For that reason, I've also included one of the early drafts of the first page of my book Fearing the Black Body: The Racial Origins of Fat Phobia (2019).”
