Outstanding teaching award recipients in social sciences

The School of Social Sciences is pleased to announce the winners of the 2017-18 Dean’s Awards for Outstanding Teaching.
Faculty were nominated for one of three awards to recognize outstanding teaching in the School of Social Sciences. In addition to teaching, the awards recognize a commitment to inclusive excellence in teaching and dedication to higher education through the use of innovative teaching methods, mentorship, and dedication to teaching excellence. The selection was done by the School’s Executive Committee.
The 2017-18 awardees are:
- Jacob Avery - Sociology, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching
- Laura Enriquez - Chicano/Latino Studies, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Mentorship
- Heidi Hardt – Political Science, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Teaching Innovation
The recipients each receive a $2,000 research stipend. A celebratory reception will be held March 12 at 3 p.m. in SBSG 1321.

- Belinda Campos, Chicano/Latino Studies - Dean’s Award for Outstanding Mentorship

- Keith Murphy, Anthropology - Dean’s Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching
- Anita Casavantes Bradford, Chicano/Latino Studies - Dean’s Award for Outstanding Mentorship
- Ami Glazer & Linda Cohen, Economics - Dean’s Award for Outstanding Teaching Innovation
2014-15
- Alyssa Brewer, Cognitive Sciences - Dean’s Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching
- Ana Rosas Chicano/Latino Studies - Dean’s Award for Outstanding Mentorship
- William Branch, Economics - Dean’s Award for Outstanding Teaching Innovation
