Of the 65,562 students who enrolled in this eight-week class sponsored by the University
of California, Irvine, 3,783 finished. Professors Zuzana Bic, Michael Denin, Sarah
Eichhorn, and Joanne Christopherson schooled students on everything from Maslow’s
hierarchy of needs to how infectious diseases spread to the prospects for nutrition
in a post-apocalyptic world.
