The School of Social Sciences is pleased to have among its faculty, staff, students,
alumni and community friends five recipients of the UCI Alumni Association’s Lauds
& Laurels awards for 2015:
Extraordinarius Award
Jean-Claude Falmagne, Research Professor, Cognitive Sciences, UC Irvine
Outstanding Faculty Achievement
Vicki Ruiz, Distinguished Professor, Chicano/Latino Studies and History, UC Irvine
Outstanding Alumnus
Amanda Fowler, '99 Economics, Executive Director, Global Corporate Giving, Edwards Lifesciences
Outstanding Undergraduate Student
Sanaa Khan, Undergraduate Student, Political Science and International Studies, UC Irvine
Outstanding University Service
Neil Sahota, '97 Math and Political Science, '00 ICS, '03 MBA, UC Irvine
Established in 1971, the awards have recognized and celebrated the accomplishments
of more than 800 outstanding anteaters who have prominently contributed to and supported
the advancement of UCI’s fundamental mission of teaching, research and public service.
The 2015 award recipients will be honored at the Alumni Association’s Lauds & Laurels
45th annual gala May 14.
