2 Bay area chefs competing in ‘Top Chef’

Two Bay Area culinary whizzes – both private chefs, one in Silicon Valley and one
in San Francisco – are among the 16 “cheftestants” competing on the next season of
Bravo’s popular “Top Chef.” … Melissa King, 30, who was raised in Los Angeles but
now lives in San Francisco, where she trained under a number of acclaimed chefs, including
Ron Siegel at the Ritz-Carlton, Dominique Crenn and Craig Stoll. She currently works
as a private chef for Kitchit. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, she
also has a bachelor’s degree in cognitive science from UC Irvine.
