Irvine…. Like black Americans, Asian-Americans are “people of color” and were barred
from public spaces, accommodations and schools. Asian-Americans have benefited from
the 1964 Civil Rights Act. This is critical to keep in mind as our nation becomes
increasingly diverse, and as we continue to press forth for the collective advancement
of all.
