Hopes dim for immigration reform

From AZ Central:

pass immigration legislation to demonstrate that they can tackle a problem in a constructive
way, said Louis DeSipio, a professor of political science and Chicano/Latino studies
at the University of California, Irvine…. “To my mind, if it doesn’t pass, or there
isn’t serious movement, by January, then it’s dead, just because it’s an election
year,” DeSipio said. “Even moderate Democrats don’t want to bring it up in an election
year.”
