Kollaboration talent show features UC Irvine grads

Three UC Irvine graduates are participating in the biggest live Asian American talent
show in Southern California. Priscilla Liang, Russell Curry and Hana Kim are competing
in Kollaboration Los Angeles 2013, which takes place Friday at the Ford Amphitheatre
in Los Angeles. The three vocalists are among 10 finalists (chosen from more than
100) who are performing in the 13th Kollaboration L.A. showcase. The winner will have
a chance to compete for a $20,000 prize in the nationwide Kollaboration Star competition
in November… Liang graduated from UC Irvine in 2010. Her major was film and media,
and she minored in sociology… Russell Curry is a rapper, or hip-hop emcee. He graduated
from UCI in 2009 with a degree in biological sciences, and spent the next two years
working at the university as an admissions counselor… Indie singer/songwriter Kim
has a soulful, rich voice, and has already gained a following on YouTube, among audiences
in Southern California and – of all places – in South America… She graduated from
UC Irvine in 2009 with a degree in economics.
