From the OC Business Journal:
An education software maker spun out of the University of California, Irvine, has
been acquired by McGraw-Hill Education in New York. Irvine-based Aleks Corp. — which
was founded in the mid-1990s by UC Irvine scientists, mathematicians, and software
engineers — specializes in what’s called adaptive learning, an increasingly popular
method that uses technology to help educators provide custom learning experiences.
