RIVERSIDE: Diversity/democracy talk ushers in series

A Los Angeles-based lecture series that has featured some of the world's biggest
names in politics, literature and academia is expanding to the Inland Empire. Zócalo
Public Square will hold its first Inland event Tuesday, Sept. 25, in Riverside with
the provocatively titled "Is Diversity Bad for Democracy?"... The Riverside event
will feature Michael Barone, principal co-author of "The Almanac of American Politics"
and a resident fellow at the conservative American Enterprise Institute; Jennifer
Lee, a UC Irvine sociologist; and Richard Alba, a scholar at the City University of
New York.
