Polarized Cities: Portraits of Rich and Poor in Urban China
Recently released in September, Polarized Cities: Portraits of Rich and Poor in Urban China features a powerful look into the lives of the impoverished and the affluent in today’s China. The anthology's editor, Dorothy J. Solinger (UCI professor emerita), invited experts in political science, sociology, anthropology, and history to explore the growing socioeconomic inequalities that have accompanied China's rapid rise.
Join us in honoring the book's release with Professor Solinger, who will read an excerpt and address questions during the Q&A that follows.
Discounted copies of the book will be available for purchase during the event. Light refreshments will be served.
