Dalai Lama Scholar Service Week at UCI: Build a Better World
Organized by Dalai Lama Scholar Kathy Dong, political science and sociology major,
the purpose of Service Week at UCI: Build a Better World is to work across differences
with various organizations to raise long-lasting awareness about different issues
and to encourage students to serve with compassion, purpose, self-care, and community.
The week highlights the different causes students support to serve their communities.
The events are organized to focus about the individuals first and then encourage individuals
to serve different communities afterwards. It begins with knowing the causes, then
remembering self-care, and lastly, engaging with the communities.
