Robert Willim is associate professor of European ethnology, Lund University, Sweden. He is interested in the interzone between art and ethnography. Parallel to his academic work, he is an artist who works with sound and new media. Tom O’Dell is professor of European ethnology also at Lund University, Sweden. Tom has been interested in the juncture between culture and economy and is looking into the ways that ethnography is transformed in the meeting with the worlds of business and the arts. Both Tom and Robert are working on a project analyzing the transformations of ethnography both within and without academia. They are also both responsible for leading and organizing a newly established masters programme in applied cultural analysis. This is the first of its kind in Scandinavia. The work with the programme has further sparked their interest in the ways that ethnography is used outside of academia.
