Cecilia Menjívar
Foundation Distinguished Professor, University of Kansas
Cecilia Menjívar was Professor in the Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics at Arizona State University, and in Fall 2015 she will join the Department of Sociology at the University of Kansas as Foundation Distinguished Professor, where she will establish a Center for Migration and Immigration Studies. Menjívar's publications include the award-winning books, Fragmented Ties: Salvadoran Immigrant Networks in America (University of California Press, 2000) and Enduring Violence: Ladina Women's Everyday Lives in Guatemala (University of California Press, 2011), and the forthcoming Immigrant Families, co-authored with Leisy Abrego and Leah Smalzbauer (Polity, 2016).
