Mexican immigration to U.S. reverses
- November 19, 2015
- As more Mexicans leave the U.S. than arrive, largest wave of immigration in modern American history ends, causing major labor concerns in the U.S., says DeSipio, courtesy of the Wall Street Journal
From the WSJ:
Louis DeSipio, a professor of political science at the University of California, Irvine,
said the Mexican reverse-migration trend should send a message to U.S. lawmakers that
an immigration overhaul may be needed to ensure economic growth. Some politicians
“are missing the emerging reality of U.S. immigration,” he said. “Immigration reform
is needed to ensure that the labor needs of the U.S. economy can continue to be met.”
